Hello. Welcome to Poppana.

Poppana is a Kent based creative practice established by freelance arts consultant and textile artist Päivi Seppälä. Päivi draws on over 20 years experience of working within the cultural sector in a wide variety of arts management roles both in the UK and abroad.

Poppana provides bespoke arts management and curatorial services for diverse cross-cultural arts projects in both the public and private sectors, specialising in the production of collaborative site-specific public art projects with a strong focus on community participation .

Since 2004 work has included unique and ambitious local, national and international arts projects – private and public commissions, specialised productions, project management and research & consultation exercises – including award winning projects such as the Rouse Kent Public Art Award winner, Hei People by Reijo Kela in 2009.

Poppana’s mission is to support and develop cultural projects in the public realm that demystify public art processes and engage with audiences from all backgrounds, promoting a sense of ownership and genuine participation within the community.

Poppana also offers a range of arts-based training programmes in galleries and educational settings for all ages and abilities.

In addition to arts management and training services, Poppana specialises in environmentally sustainable textile works for both public buildings and domestic interiors.
