Arts Management Services

Poppana provides a range of cultural services including:

Arts Management

Poppana applies innovative and creative thinking to arts management for individuals and corporate clients in both public and private sector, specialising in site-specific public art projects with a strong participatory element.

Poppana has developed distinctive ways of devising and delivering projects in the public realm with genuine community engagement and involvement, while still retaining the high quality and integrity of the artwork.

Since 2004, Poppana has successfully invented and implemented a number of diverse public art events and conceived, coordinated and managed visual art and contemporary craft projects both nationally and internationally including art programmes, feasibility studies, exhibitions and fundraising for commercial organisations, local authorities, community groups, charities and individuals.

Poppana works with clients from the early conceptual stages of the project right through to its successful completion. The focus is to ensure that all projects deliver on their objectives, leave a lasting legacy and increase opportunities for further development in the future.

Curatorial Services

Poppana offers a variety of curatorial services to suit all personal or organisational needs, whether you are an artist looking for a curator to produce a show for a specific space, or an organisation or individual in need of supplemental curatorial help.

Poppana has an extensive knowledge of all aspects of exhibition programming, planning and delivery in both public or private spaces and gallery or non-gallery environments.

Poppana can either manage the entire curatorial process, from conceptualisation, research, selection of work and promotional writing to installation, or assist with selected portions of the work.

Artistic Practice

My artistic practice explores and draws inspiration from the cultural and environmental aspects of our everyday surroundings. My works are inspired by the memories associated with our possessions and the clothes we wear as well as our heritage and identity.

By combining traditional weaving techniques with new working processes and the use of discarded materials, I aim to create environmentally sustainable works with a wealth of different surface textures, vibrant colours and architectural qualities.

I specialise in unique textile works for both public buildings and domestic interiors. My artwork varies from large-scale site-specific public interventions and gallery-based installations to contemporary interior furnishings and wearable textile accessories made entirely from recycled materials.

I often develop participatory processes around my work for community involvement to investigate how working together with diverse members of the public and collaborating with artists across artistic disciplines can influence and evolve the artwork.
